Yes, this is a thing! Are you tired of applying and blending contour lines every day with makeup? You can achieve a much more permanent contour with self-tanner. Many people forego makeup when they use self tanner - why not take it up a notch? Accentuate your natural features without the use of pore-clogging makeup.
What You’ll Need:
Golden Star Beauty Self Tanning Face Serum
Small Flat Angled Brush
First, prepare your face and apply self tanner as instructed so that you have a good color base to work off of. The next day, when the self tanner has fully developed, you can start contouring! It is important to go slowly and build over a couple of days so you can adjust the color or blending as needed.
Cheeks - Wearing gloves, pump a little self tanner onto the back of one of your hands. With your free hand, dip a finger lightly into the self tanner. Suck in your cheeks and smile to see where your cheekbones are and very lightly trace under them from your hairline to under the apples of your cheeks with a little tanner. Blend in gently with your beauty blender using light sweeping motions to give it a more natural look.
Nose - Take your flat angled brush and use it to trace down both sides of your nose with a light hand. Be very careful since this is the center of your face - it’s better to apply too little than too much! Blend it into your nose just a little using the beauty blender or your fingers.
Jawline - All you want to do here is create the illusion of a shadow to make your jawline stand out more which helps your face appear thinner. Again, dab the tanner along your jawline lightly - blending it out as you go. You can even take any extra leftover on your beauty blender and apply it to your left and right temples and along your hairline.
You can leave the tanner on your face anywhere from one to three hours depending on how dark you want it to be. Rinse off and take note of any areas you would like to fix or would like to be darker. We suggest building up your contour over a couple of days for an all natural look and to avoid making your face look dirty or just covered with a streaky fake tan!
Make sure to always moisturize to make it last as long as possible. It might take a little practice just like anything else - but once you get the hang of how you want it to look, your tantour can last for up to 2 weeks! It’s not only a time saver, but an amazing way to accentuate your natural features while keeping your skin looking healthy and nourished.
