Keep Accountable - Write a list or take it a step further and give the list to someone else so they can help keep you on track. Get a planner and make due dates for tasks if that will help you focus on what needs to be done first and when.
Start Small - If your list seems to large and intimidating, start with something small that doesn’t seem like much. Then just do a few of those and once you have gotten some things done, you will not only want to keep going on this productive path, but you will feel wonderful about yourself for getting even this far.
Reduce Distractions - Go somewhere where you are unlikely to be distracted - whatever that means for you. Whether it’s a library or a coffee shop or on your front porch, find somewhere where you can focus and get stuff done.
Remind Yourself of Your Successes - Don’t get down on yourself if you feel like you are not accomplishing much. Remember all of the positive things you have done in the past and encourage yourself to keep on working towards your goals.
Reward Yourself - Take the time to take a break and reward yourself for a job well done. Even if it is a little reward, a positive incentive can really help you take the next small step to accomplishing your tasks and long-term goals.
